The area has been designated a national park and runs between two towns: Adršpach and Teplice nad Metují.

All of the formations have been given names translating as:

Worm, Stony gate, Krakonoš´s harp, Swallow´s nest, Butcher´s axe, Stony crown, Temple and Martin walls, Stony temple, to name a few.

There wasn’t that many visitors but I can guess in the summer this place is packed.

Armed with a day pack we followed the route around exploring all of the nooks and crannys.

Such an amazing place, we had decided to extend the walk towards a lake on the map half way there we stopped for a break and something to fill our stomachs with.

Food Time.

As we where flying out to Poland for this holiday I was limited to what I could bring.

I had decided to bring the Swiss Army Stove and I thought i’d have a go seeing if a hexane block would be enough to heat a cup of water.

I was quite pleased when realising that one cube of hexagon was more than enough to heat a cup of water, especially in this weather.

Food on the route of our Micro adventure Hiking around Adrspach.

I guess as the volcano stove was fuelling the tablet with a good amount of oxygen it burnt very efficiently.

We had some freeze dried meals from summit to eat to rehydrate so within 8 minutes these where ready to eat.

I’ve reviewed these meals previously and out of all I’ve tasted these are the best i’ve tried.

As it was February the paths where covered in ice so we where glad we had micro-spikes to stop us slipping.

I cannot recommend these enough they are light weight and could save you from a very painful fall.
